Community engagement is a crucial part of individual growth. Thanks to many wonderful community partners, kiddos at Respite Care are able to participate in fun, memorable and educational field trips throughout town and surrounding areas.
Respitality is a special evening at Respite Care that gives our kiddos the opportunity to bring their siblings with them. Weekend staff team up with volunteer groups to create the event theme and activities, and parents are given the night off.
In House Fun
From arts and crafts projects, to HABIC therapy dogs and special musical events, we do it all. The lists of activities and possibilities of new friendships are endless!
Summer Day Camp
During the Summer we offer a 10-week day camp program. Each week is filled with a wide assortment of stimulating and engaging activities, ranging from field trips to the zoo, aquarium and pool to a week of therapeutic horse camp.
Every July, we take a group of campers up to Highlands Presbyterian Ranch for a week of Wilderness Camp. Campers are paired on a 1:1 ratio with one of our Childcare Specialists, and look forward to activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, archery, horseback riding and more.
Prom Night is a magical one at Respite Care! Each spring, close to 30 teens show up in their finest attire and are greeted with a corsage or boutonniere by their volunteer “buddy” for the evening. The event is catered, and teens are offered the chance to be professionally photographed before dancing the night away with friends.
What comes down but never goes up?
