For families in Northern Colorado that have children with developmental disabilities, Respite Care is a vital resource, providing critical respite for caregivers and a place to enhance the quality of life for children. The families we serve need a helping hand and a trusted safe space for their most precious loved ones.

Living with the 24/7 demands of a child with a disability can leave a parent exhausted, and take a toll on the entire family.

Respite Care offers compassionate relief to families to give them the strength and support they need to thrive in the face of immense and oftentimes unimaginable challenges.

WHO WE ARE

Since 1982, Respite Care Inc. has provided short-term, quality care for children with developmental disabilities and respite to their families, enabling them to enhance their quality of life.

We believe that a child with a disability is a child first and that his or her challenges are secondary. With this mission and philosophy in mind, Respite Care creates an interactive, stimulating, and safe environment that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of each individual child.

The need for change

When Respite Care moved from Old Town Fort Collins to our current location, our space was innovative and designed to meet the needs of the time. More than 20 years later, the need for our services has grown beyond what our current location can support. Your contribution will ensure that significantly more children in Northern Colorado will benefit from the exclusive care and services only offered at Respite Care. With your support, we will construct and equip a 20,000 sq. ft. facility that can accommodate age appropriate activity areas and classrooms, provide enlarged common spaces that are adapted to the physical and emotional needs of the children we serve, and enhance our sensory, safety, and communication features. We will be able to improve our ability to fulfill our mission of providing children with disabilities, ages 6 weeks to 18 years, the highest quality of care in a safe, accessible, and nurturing environment.

The CAMPAIGN

Through a community-led capital campaign, Respite Care aims to serve more children and families in Northern Colorado, between the ages of 6 weeks and 18 years. The new facility will allow us to meet and even exceed the best industry standards and plan for greater innovation to benefit the children and families we serve.

We will expand our services to offer more enrichment opportunities and specialized programs by age group. The new space will increase our capacity to support children, families, and our team in an environment better equipped for learning, growth, and interaction. Our new home will create an environment that promotes trust and effective communication, allowing for individualized care and tailored support.

After extensive research and careful consideration, our team has concluded that constructing a new facility is imperative for Respite Care to fulfill our commitment to providing exceptional programming, ensuring accessibility, meeting strict licensing requirements, and responding to the community’s growing demand for our services

We’ve identified our destination. We’ve charted the course. Now it’s time to embark! Please join us by supporting the Join Our Journey Campaign.
