With Care, We Grow

Northern Colorado is growing, and with growth comes our opportunity to help more families who have kids with developmental disabilities. With your generosity, we can build a new home for Respite Care together. Please consider leaving your mark on our new facility with our many Capital Campaign naming opportunities. When you donate, you’ll do more than contribute to our dreams and goals, you’ll make a lasting impression the community will remember. We appreciate your interest in and support of our Capital Campaign! With care, we grow.

More Space, More Programs, More Respite

20,000 square feet will give us the physical room to grow and will also allow us to add new enrichment programs, day camps, specialized classrooms by age group, enlarged common spaces adapted to meet diverse needs, and enhanced sensory, safety, and communication features. This will mean more fun, learning, and growth for kids ages 6 weeks to 18 years old, and more peace of mind for their grateful loved ones. As you can see, an investment in Respite Care is an investment in Northern Colorado. We are building a better community. The new building will be centrally located in Timnath with I-25 access on the border of Weld and Larimer Counties. Once we open our new doors, our 65-child capacity will steadily expand to more than 150 over time.

Key Features of the New Facility

• Increase parking with accessible stalls

• Provide designated pick-up/drop-off areas for better transportation flow

• Establish a year-round sensory garden

• Implement a centralized location for Weld & Larimer Counties

• Arrange dedicated age-appropriate playgrounds

• Enhance entry with clear signage

• Extend programming with larger gym space

• Increase services for more kids and families

• Accommodate more children with sensory impairments

• Improve safety and reduce transitions with better interior traffic flow

• Expand commercial kitchen & dining space

• Create inter-room communication throughout building

• Equip volunteers & staff with designated space for breaks

• Implement greater storage space for wheelchairs, walkers, and other necessary equipment

The Campaign

We are underway. The building site is already secured: 2.5 acres of donated land in the I-25 corridor in Timnath valued at around $1 million. Through the support of a local foundation and many supporters and community members, we have already raised $7.6 million. In addition, our current building on Lemay will be listed to sell for $1.9 million. Our total fundraising goal is

$12 million. This will turn a dream into reality for hundreds of Northern Colorado families. We need your help to make this happen. Please consider donating today!

Schedule & Timeline

Donations to Respite Care Qualify for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Tax Credit!

How it Works

Half of your donation will be offset by a dollar-for-dollar credit against your Colorado income taxes. You are able to claim your contribution less the credit as a charitable deduction on your federal and state income tax returns if you itemize deductions.

  • The maximum credit you may take in any one year is $100,000, or your actual Colorado income tax liability for that year, whichever is less.
  • Any excess credit may be carried forward for up to five tax years.
  • Only monetary donations are eligible. Stock or other securities and in-kind gifts, such as services or equipment, are not eligible. Qualifying charitable distributions are considered monetary donations.
  • Resident and nonresident individuals, estates, trusts, partnerships, and corporations can all claim the credit.
