Hugman Award Nominations

Recognize Someone Who Makes a Difference

Every day, the staff at Respite Care go above and beyond to provide compassionate care, create meaningful connections, and make a lasting impact on the children and families we serve. Their kindness, patience, dedication, and heart deserve to be celebrated.

  • Community members

What Makes Someone a Hugman Award Recipient?

Hugman Award recipients are individuals who consistently demonstrate compassion, kindness, professionalism, and a commitment to enriching the lives of the children and families they serve.

Maybe they:

  • Made your child feel safe, welcomed, and valued.
  • Went above and beyond during a difficult time.
  • Built a meaningful relationship with your family.
  • Showed extraordinary patience, creativity, or compassion.
  • Made a lasting impact that you’ll never forget.

How It Works

Nominations are accepted year-round and reviewed quarterly. Our Organizational Support Committee will carefully review each nomination and select one or more recipients whose stories best reflect the spirit of the Hugman Award. Recipients will be recognized during a special presentation and celebrated for the incredible difference they make every day.

Submit Your Nomination

Please complete the nomination form below. The more details you can share about your experience, the better. Your story helps us recognize the extraordinary work our staff do each and every day.

What happens after you submit your nomination?

Your nomination goes directly to our Organizational Support Committee. Nominations are reviewed quarterly to select an honoree. Every staff who is nominated for a Hugman Award will receive a copy of their nomination. The committee meets quarterly to review each submission and select one Hugman Award honoree based on the impact described in the nomination and how their actions reflect Respite Care's missions and values. Recipients are honored at a staff meeting or organization-wide event, where they are presented with the Hugman Award, receive a Hugman Award pin to proudly wear on their staff badge, and are awarded a monetary bonus in recognition of the positive impact they have made on Respite Care.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the people who make Respite Care such a special place.
